Meeting the grandparents....

Yes, THE big day. April 7, I finally get to meet my grandparents from France. You know grandparents, they are the people who talk to you like "kielekiele" and "boelieboelie" and who want to hug you all the time. Grandparents are great, they spoil you rotten.

During their stay we actually went on a trip, my very first one. We went to the Big Sur where we stayed at The Ragged Point Inn. The perfect place to relax. The rooms had a great view, and the restaurant was very cozy and the food was excellent. Also, the waiters immediately understood that my crying just meant they had to bring our stuff! The breakfast was served outdoors, while the waves were crashing into the rocks 100 feet below. Temperatures exceeding 25°C made it all perfect.

And because I liked being on vacation soooo much and I had behaved so well we actually spent another night in Morro Bay in The Blue Sail Inn. The town is a historic fishing village, with a nice waterfront area and numerous little boats sailing in the estuary, which is separated from the ocean by some impressive sand dunes. While Pette and Babou were exploring the estuary in a kayak, I strolled around and chilled in the park with my mommy and daddy. We even went to a sushi restaurant in the evening! Of course, I made sure the waiters served us promptly...
Unfortunately 10 days pass by so quickly and last Wednesday I had to say goodbye again but now that they have discovered the Internet too, I will be seeing a lot of them on the big screen in my living room.

Ja zeg, nu begint mijn papa ook al foto's te trekken als ik op het gemak aan het eten ben, dit gaat mij toch iets te ver! Dat er in Hollywood veel paperazzi zitten, dat wist ik, maar hier in het rustige Goleta? Dus papa, rustig met dat fototoestel he...

And the winner is...

Well, actually there are two winners. What happened? During my baby shower everyone had to predict my birth weight, length and date. Oh yes, I was later than everyone had expected, but some were close about my weight and length. As Ilse and my daddy both had the top score, they each earn $15, enough to buy me a nice toy I would think.

For all the diehard baby fans among you that can't get enough of baby pictures (just like my parents, they take pictures of me all the time, really, they don't stop).

Dag iedereen

Mijn naam is Zoé A. Sercu. Ik ben geboren in Santa Barbara om 10.48 uur en vandaag is dus de allereerste dag van mijn leven – spannend hé. Mijn mama dacht al dat ik nooit meer ging komen (She is not exactly Mrs. Patience moet je weten!). Ik had nochtans duidelijk gezegd dat ze mij niet voor 24 maart moesten verwachten. By the way - did you know that only 5% of babies are actually born on the due-date, with an average of 8 days late for first pregnancies and 3 days for second pregnancies. Dat er nu niemand meer zegt dat ik te laat was hé!!!!! Trouwens, ik ben niet voor niks de dochter van mijn daddy: als wij iets doen dan doen we het goed en ge moet mij vooral niet opjagen...

Mijn papa is echt cool (hij surft!). Hij was wel wat zenuwachtig om mij de eerste keer te zien. Maar dat zal waarschijnlijk niet te lang duren, het zal binnenkort wel andersom zijn als ik eens iets mispeuter.

Je ziet dat ik goed mijn best doe om te groeien hé.

1 maand geleden: Mama en papa verhuizen naar een groter appartement.

Joehoe, ik krijg mijn eigen kamer - Ikea here we come!!! Jammer voor papa want als hij iets niet graag doet dan is het wel naar Ikea gaan - na een tijdje in de winkel begint hij dan altijd heel raar te doen en hij laat overal het gerief achter dat mama uitkiest. Dit tot grote ergernis van mama natuurlijk.
